Don't you just love it when an eight-line-long sentence contains a parenthetical phrase that is seven and a half lines long and that first parenthetical phrase contains another four line phrase in parentheses?
That is why it can take me twenty minutes to get through one sentence sometimes. It's also why I usually just ignore the larger set of parentheses, when it's feasible.

My favorites are sentences with, say, three different clauses, but only one subject, and one verb at the end to tie things up.
Heh, I was yelling at the 原稿 this morning, asking "where's the verb?"
It appears that Japanese judges are extremely averse to punctuation. I'm working on a court ruling and each paragraph is one sentence, even if it's fifteen lines long.
It's like trying to tighten (or loosen) a well-worn and rounded nut with a slippery adjustable crescent wrench...
